Steel and Aluminum Tariffs – Joint Industry Calls for Removal of Retaliatory Tariffs on Products Not Related to Transatlantic Trade Dispute

The National Association of Beverage Importers (NABI) joined 73 other organizations in the United States and European Union in calling for both parties to removal the retaliatory tariffs currently imposed on products not related to the core products of that are the center of the steel and aluminum trade dispute under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, in order to protect national security.


A wide range of goods were subject to the retaliatory tariffs imposed by the EU in response to the tariffs on steel (25%) and aluminum (10%) in June 2018.


The Call Statement is directed at the G20 Heads of State and Government Summit to be held in Rome this weekend.
